Niagara County Community College shot a blistering 52 percent on its way to an 85-65 Western New York Athletic Conference victory over local rival Erie Community College on Saturday afternoon.
The No. 13 Thunderwolves, who outscored the Kats 52-35 in the second half, improved to 18-4 overall and 2-0 in conference play. ECC, meanwhile, dropped to 10-6, 2-1.
NCCC had five players in double figures led by freshman Lamar Lovelace with 14 points. Classmate Taylor Sanders netted 12, first-year forward Matthew Cleveland had 11 points and eight rebounds, freshman Justin Hendrick added 11 and frosh Allen Fordham chipped in with 10.
Joshua Denis scored a game-high 15 points for the Kats.
N-Trip returns to the court at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday when Monroe Community College visits for another WNYAC battle.
