Thunderwolves bounce back with win over Lorain to start Ohio road trip
After an eight-day break, SUNY Niagara men's club soccer bounced back with a 2-1 win againt Lorain CC Saturday in Elyira, Ohio. This marked the Thunderwolves' third win in their last four contests, dating back to a 2-1 win versus Roberts Wesleyan on Sept. 24 in Sanborn.
Lorain struck first with a goal in the 15th minute and took a 1-0 lead. The Thunderwolves then capitalized five minutes later as Nikolas Magaris' corner set up Enzo Bufalino's assist to Gianfranco Centeno to tie the contest at 1-1, the eventual halftime score.
The blue-and-gold then scored the game-deciding goal in the 50th minute as Magaris connected off a pass from Remington Albee and scored on a breakaway
Landon Rees recorded five saves in net for SUNY Niagara.
SUNY Niagara (5-3) continues its season at Terra State at 1 p.m. Sunday to finish its two-game road trip in Ohio over the holiday weekend. The Thunderwolves then return home to host Erie at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sanborn, followed by the women's contest at 4 p.m.
