Niagara County Community College won a pair of important Region III home games vs. Onondaga Community College this past Saturday. With the wins, the Thunderwolves pushed past the .500 mark with an overall record of 13-12. N-Trip is also 9-1 in regional play.
Niagara CCC 6, Onondaga CC 5 (8 inn.)
Freshman Julia Faery worked a bases-loaded walk to score classmate Cecelia Waters in the bottom of the eighth inning. Sophomore right-hander Lydia Serrano tossed all eight innings, gave up just three earned runs and struck out eight. Serrano added two hits, including an RBI double. Also for N-Trip, freshman Maggiemay Murrins had two RBIs.
Niagara CCC 10, Onondaga CC 2 (5 inn.)
Murrins allowed just five hits with three Ks in a complete-game effort. At the plate, Serrano had two hits, a double and three RBIs. Also for the T-Wolves, freshman Sydney Sexton went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored and classmate Shelby Wolf added two RBIs.
