Host SUNY Niagara put up a fight before dropping a Region III doubleheader to nationally-ranked Monroe Community College on Tuesday afternoon.
The Thunderwolves slipped to 2-19 overall and 2-9 in regional contests.
The T-Wolves return to action at 3 p.m. Thursday with a twinbill at rival Erie Community College.
Monroe CC 11, SUNY Niagara 1 (5 inn.)
The Wolves mustered just three hits and made six errors in the setback. Freshman Caitlyn Hanley had an RBI double and classmate Isabella Christopher doubled and scored the team's lone run.

The Tribunes scored seven runs in the sixth inning to break open a tie game. Sophomore Camryn Smith led the Thunderwolves' offense, finishing 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs. Freshman Quinn Manth was 3-for-4 with two runs and three stolen bases, classmate Mia Herman totaled two RBIs and Christopher had a run-scoring double. Freshman Lauren Kisloski added two hits and scored twice.
