Bio

Jenna Koch was named SUNY Niagara’s new head softball coach in January 2025. Koch now leads the Thunderwolves after two assistant coaching stints from 2002 to 2006 and again in July 2023, ahead of the 2024 season.

In her first season as head coach, the Thunderwolves went 5-26. The season included a 10-game road trip to Clermont, Florida for The Spring Games against nationally-ranked NJCAA Division II programs.

Koch recorded her first win as head coach in SUNY Niagara’s 14-1 six-inning finish at SUNY Adirondack on April 5. The Thunderwolves finished the season with six selections to the All-WNYAC team (Isabella Christopher, Caitlyn Hanley, Natalie Brandel, Rylee VanNostrand, Lauren Kisloski and Quinn Manth). Manth also finished in the top-15 in hits and batting average in NJCAA Division III.

A 2000 graduate and varsity softball letterman at Tonawanda High School, Koch continued her career at SUNY Niagara (then Niagara County Community College) as a catcher in the 2001 and 2002 seasons. After graduating from Sanborn with an Associate’s degree in Business Management, Koch earned a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from Empire State College.

When not coaching, Koch can be seen at a high school or travel softball game recruiting local talent and promoting the programs offered at SUNY Niagara.

A City of Tonawanda resident, Koch has served as its Council President since 2016 and is also a Human Resources Manager for a local health care system in Western New York.
