Niagara County Community College overcame a slow start to knock off host Jamestown Community College 76-49 in Western New York Athletic Conference action on Tuesday night. The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 12 in the NJCAA Div. II poll, are now 22-2 overall and 3-1 in WNYAC play.
Freshman wing Taliyah Hopkins finished with a game-high 20 points, while classmate Peyton Butts added 14 points, four rebounds and four steals.
Sophomores Albanellys Perez and Ana Valerie Odom chipped in with nine points apiece, while second-year point guard Ericka Thompson had eight points, seven steals and six assists. Freshman Courtney Kaczor also had eight points.
Next up for the T-Wolves is their second meeting of the season with rival Genesee CC. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
