Niagara County Community College, ranked No. 12 in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll, had its 18-game win streak snapped following a 74-59 setback at the hands of No. 2 Monroe CC on Thursday. The Thunderwolves drop to 21-2 overall and 2-1 in Western New York Athletic Conference play.
Sophomore forward Albanellys Perez led NCCC with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Freshman guard Peyton Butts added 14 points and six boards and classmate Taliyah Hopkins netted 11 points.
The T-Wolves were plagued by 20 turnovers and shot just 28 percent from the field. Next up is a road contest at Jamestown CC. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
