SUNY Niagara went 2-0 at this past weekend's Region III pod hosted by Erie Community College. The Thunderwolves are now 6-12 overall and 5-9 in regional play. The six wins are the most for the program since the 2016 season. The Wolves return to action at 10 a.m. Saturday for the annual Western New York Athletic Conference Tournament hosted by Monroe Community College.
SUNY Niagara 3, Mohawk Valley CC 0
Freshman Cait Cliffe had 12 kills, seven digs and four service aces as the T-Wolves earned the sweep. The scores were 25-9, 25-13 and 25-6 in favor of SUNY Niagara. Freshman Ava Gaudy recorded 33 assists, classmate Paige Van Every had five kills and seven aces and sophomore Juliana Levesque added five kills and six digs.
SUNY Niagara 3, Herkimer College 1
Cliffe had another strong outing, finishing with 11 kills, 23 digs and six aces in a victory over the Generals. The scores were 25-22, 25-13, 17-25 and 25-18 in favor of SUNY Niagara. Van Every put down eight kills, Levesque had six kills and 19 digs and Gaudy chipped in with 34 assists, six digs and four aces.
