For the second time in three days, rivals Niagara County Community College and Erie Community split a doubleheader at ECC's North campus. The nationally-ranked Thunderwolves moved to 17-7 overall and 2-2 in Region III Western Division play.
Niagara CCC 5, Erie CC 2
Freshman Ryan Birchard did not allow an earned run and struck out 12 over six innings of work. At the plate, freshman Vincent Stutz was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, sophomore Vincent Cenname went 1-for-2 with an RBI double and classmate Chris Tani finished 1-for-2 with two runs scored.
Erie CC 10, Niagara CCC 4
Freshman Trent Wasserman clubbed a home run and finished with two RBIs in the loss. Fellow frosh Howie Stuckey doubled. Freshman Kyle Finn threw 6.2 innings of relief and allowed just four hits and three earned runs to go with nine Ks.
