SUNY Niagara tames rival Kats
SUNY Niagara scored 12 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to secure a 13-3 Region III victory over visiting Erie Community College on a rainy Thursday afternoon at Sal Maglie Stadium.
Game two of the doubleheader was postponed due to deteriorating weather conditions. A make-up date will be announced soon.
The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 2 in the latest NJCAA Div. III poll, improved to 29-0 overall and 11-0 in the region.
Right-handed sophomore pitcher Aidan Paul improved to 5-0 on the season as he tossed six innings and struck out six.
Freshman Cooper Rossano ripped a grand slam, while sophomore Nigel Sebastianelli went 4-for-4 with a triple, four RBIs and two runs scored.
Also for the Wolves, freshman Dalton Harper was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and classmate Mike Schaefer finished 1-for-1 with an RBI and scored twice.
The T-Wolves return to action at 1 p.m. Saturday with a twinbill at ECC's North campus.
